Youngcraft - Unimind

The UNIMIND is a pure single fin edge board inspired by George Greenoughs designs and single fin theory.

The edges, single fin and outline all work in unison to allow the board to manoeuvre with ease, the edges let the board roll from rail to rail and the fin allows it to pivot and change direction quickly.  This creates a super sensitive almost gyroscope like feeling in the tail which allows you to make quick multi axis adjustments, which makes for really fun tight arcs in the pocket. The edges also help with manoeuvrability when you move forward into the centre of the board. They give you control, hold and lift to climb the wave face, which feels great in the tube or flying through a fast section.  The outline is designed to sit right in the sweet spot of enough nose and tail width to give you rail line drive and planing surface for trim and projection.  But also pulled in enough to reduce swing weight for easy manoeuvrability and carving freedom.  They have moderate rocker throughout to allow you to surf them in lots of different waves.

I use a narrow base 9 inch greenough style single fin.

The edges have a lot of hold drive and straight-line projection and so the single fin allows the tail to pivot, which really loosens and frees up the whole ride. I use a narrow base 9 inch greenough style high speed fin, which gives nice hold through turns from the depth and rake , but also allows water to release of it quickly reducing drag and increasing pivot.
